DUBUQUE, Iowa -- Flexsteel Industries Inc. has cut 10 jobs, less than two months after a series of layoffs the company hoped would be temporary.
Mark Cook, the interim business representative for the United Steel Workers of America Local 1861-U, and a Flexsteel official have confirmed the job cuts.
“I don’t have the list yet from the company or how long the duration is,” Cook said.
In June, the furniture maker cut 21 hourly jobs at its Dubuque flagship factory, along with “a few” office positions at the plant.
The hourly work force has been diminishing at the Dubuque headquarters in recent years; dropping from 650 employees in 2000 to about 200 today.
