CANTON, Ohio -- Little Guy Worldwide, a distributor of teardrop camper trailers, announced today that it will be providing one soon-to-be more fortunate victim of the alleged Madoff Ponzi investment scheme an opportunity to join its teardrop owner's club. Little Guy Worldwide is offering to give away a Silver Shadow Highline brand teardrop camper trailer to an investor who lost millions.
There are several catches, of course: only one such trailer will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. The recipient must own a Maybach luxury automobile with a hitch, and they must have lost at least $1 million dollars in the alleged Madoff Ponzi scheme. The lucky recipient must claim their prize in person at the Little Guy Worldwide corporate headquarters in Canton, Ohio on Jan. 31.
Many of these once wealthy individuals may be left bankrupt and penniless. "We recognize," says Joe Kicos, owner of Little Guy Worldwide, "that when an individual comes upon hard times and finds themselves alienated from a group, that it can leave the individual with a void that they may look to fill with dangerous or destructive substitutes in an attempt to regain happiness and personal fulfillment. We wish to help these individuals by providing a healthy, practical and meaningful outlet. Furthermore, we think that owning a teardrop camper trailer is a symbolic, if not also cathartic, expression of their anguish. It's tangible, and it's high class."
Little Guy Teardrop Camper Trailers are small, lightweight campers that can be towed by virtually any vehicle with a hitch. These environmentally friendly sleeping compartments on wheels are the ultimate in outdoor practicality. With rising gas prices and the trend toward smaller vehicles, the lightweight towable RV business has begun to flourish. Little Guy has recently parlayed this growth in the sector into a new distribution agreement with a major nationwide network of RV dealers.
Chris Baum, executive vice president and chief operating officer for Little Guy, observed, "You know, so far as we are aware, none of our customers were invited to participate in Mr. Madoff’s investment group. Our customers generally come from middle class circumstances. They’re not inclined to purchase large, gas guzzling recreational vehicles, not to mention yachts and Maybach luxury cars in Palm Beach. Our customers are practical, down-to-earth people who enjoy the company of friends around a nice campfire before they drift off to sleep to the sound of crickets chirping in the trees outside of their little teardrop camper trailer.
"The opportunity to open up a cultural exchange between members of our Little Guy Owner’s Club and recently displaced members of Mr. Madoff’s investment group is unprecedented," said Baum. "They are, after all, both exclusive clubs — though with slightly different aims. The more teardrop camper trailers that we sell, however, the less exclusive the Little Guy Owner’s Club has become. That's been a source of consternation for some."
Ownership of a teardrop camper trailer comes with many benefits. Of particular note is the ready access to mobile accommodations in the wake of any impending foreclosure. Unlike an intrepid palatial estate on the 18th hole of the Palm Beach Country Club, however, a teardrop camper trailer is great for getting out of the way of impending South Florida hurricanes. They really are a lifesaver.
Any qualifying victim of the alleged Ponzi scheme may claim their prize by contacting Little Guy worldwide at 1-866-415-5090 or online at www.golittleguy.com.
