(March 20, 2009) -- Flagler County Sheriff deputies say 41-year-old Linda Pearce deliberately ran over Lorain Boylan with a golf cart Tuesday at the Bulow RV Resort. “I cooked dinner for everybody that day. It was St. Patrick’s Day. I was watching the guys play horseshoes and I’m standing there like this. She (Pearce) said I’m going to run this @#$% over and I looked over and I was already under the cart. All I kept thinking was please don’t let my head get under that tire.”

(March 20, 2009) -- Finally, the board issued a $22,500 fine to the French Camp RV Park and Golf Course. The park's treated wastewater, used to irrigate its golf course, did not meet quality standards for human health. As a result, the wastewater is being shipped to a treatment plant.

(March 17, 2009) -- The new program, called the KOA Kampground Stimulus Plan, provides a dollar-for-dollar match to funds spent by KOA owners in four specific areas: newspaper advertising, radio advertising, direct mail and mass email marketing. A total of nearly $500,000 in matching funds is being made available to KOA owners through the Kampground Stimulus Plan.

He said short-term stays pick up in the summer, but seasonal campers are less numerous than they once were. The number of people staying long-term has increased in the last 15 of the 31 years he’s owned the park, he said.

(March 9, 2009) -- The change in status for TACO from Affiliated to Direct membership began when the ARVC board in 2007 raised ARVC membership to TACO parks by 35 percent beginning in 2009. Rather than cut TACO benefits by 35 percent or automatically raising TACO dues to cover the increase, TACO decided to bill the ARVC dues separately from state membership, giving TACO members the choice of membership to ARVC in 2009.

(March 6, 2009) -- Frances Lynch, a winter resident from St. Joseph, Mo., was in an RV belonging to her and her husband just 20 to 25 yards from the crash site. Lynch said she was inside their RV in the kitchen area when she heard a big boom. When she looked out the kitchen window, she saw a large ball of fire. She said the explosion lifted both RVs at the crash site up into the air.

Officers used multiple force options including a Taser before a senior officer shot the man, who later died. It's the second fatal shooting at the 30-unit RV park in the last five months.
